Summer Program 2011

This summer we will offer a ten-week summer session, running from June 20 through August 26.  The program will be open to children who are presently enrolled in our program and new children who will be attending during the 2011-2012 school year.   

Our theme this year will be Music, Music, Music!  Our class will learn about music through a variety of materials, with many guest musicians performing with and for the children.  We will make our own musical instruments, and will try to find an appropriate musical field trip.  At the end of the summer, we will have a musical picnic.

          The Toddler Program will be for children up to age 3.  The toddlers will keep mainly to their regular schedule, with individual work time, large muscle activities, song time and outdoor play. The toddlers will have a little more interaction with the preschoolers during the summer, especially those who will be moving up to the preschool group in September.  

         The Preschool and Kindergarten Program will utilize all the Montessori materials, with more emphasis on art projects and dramatic play.   We will also spend time outdoors with sand and water, and will tend our garden on the playground.
